This is a preview sampler of Adam Davison's new album "Diamond Heart." Adam is a veteran of the Brooklyn rock scene and a member of the band Company (Brah Records). Diamond Heart is a collection of songs of love and devotion, featuring meditative acoustic numbers, country ballads and psychedelic rockers.
released November 27, 2012
In 2001, Adam joined his fellow Bard College alums David Janik, Stephanie Rabins and Christopher Teret to form a band called Company in Brooklyn. For the next few years, they won over fans at their frequent shows at storied venues such as the 9C Lounge, Pete's Candy Store, North 6, and the old Knitting Factory, playing with such luminaries as Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Bright Eyes. During their recent hiatus period, Adam has kept himself busy self-producing records in his basement with the help of his friends, including Company's Stephanie, Andrew Deutsch (Home), and his wife Deirdre. Diamond Heart is the work of a songwriter conversant with a range of styles, from classic country to intimate folk to dark psychedelia. With these nine songs, Adam makes the case that the world really does need more love songs.
Adam self-releases his work on his label Papasan Records.
